I mentioned I left the .25 cent sale with 2 items...this is the second. It was just too unique to leave benind. It stands 5' tall and appears to be made of maple? Possibly oak, I'm not really sure. It has been cut, stained and then turned into a floor lamp. It did not come with a shade so I'll need to figure out what would look good with it...any ideas?

I guess those 2 weeks of girls scouts did me absolutely no good at all. Thank you mustangtony

Those experiences with girl scouts sure did me well when I was younger. Best I review those memories now because I probably won't be able to in a few years. D-mned, I already have!

ahhh now I see the error of my ways blunderbuss2! I wasted 2 long weeks with the girl scouts when I should have been hanging out with the boy scouts. Thanks bratjdd :) mustangtony...I reckon thats my problem. Down here we learn to identify trees when they are all in one piece and have leaves. In this form all wood goes into one classification, bonfire wood

There you go ky. Toolate gives us a visual. I kind of lean toward the camo but that doesn't mean you can't come up with something different.

I made a stump lamp recently from pecan. Turned out great. I used a giant old glass insulator for the shade but my bulb is recessed down a ways so that it is almost even with the wood. It is listed under my items. Point is that anything can make a neat shade if you can hide a bulb in it.

Do you get any light thru an insulator, Young? What watt bulb?
    13. Youngdudeoldstuff, 9 years ago
Yes it's very bright. I have a LED 7.5 watt candelabra bulb that is painfully bright without the insulator over it. It lights the entire room without being too much. The insulator is under a different listing of mine as well.
