Do not know anything about this clock its very heavy so I assume its Gold, I can not lift it with my 2 hands. My mother has it for 6 years actually it started working yesterday ticking ticking and all of a sudden it rangs too.

on the back there is a small pricing label EP 40 written on it.
There is an angel on it, a standing women with an anchor also.. I don't have any clue about where its from or what its worth but they told my mom its worth a lot and she should buy insurance for it.

      An Empire style mantel clock.
      Time and striker.
      Ormolu and bronze.
      Might well be French.
Enamel dial with Roman numerals and Arabic quarter markers.
The symbolism of these clocks can be quite involved.
The Classical gods served as models and symbols for people in the early nineteenth century. On your clock you have a depiction of Cupid or Eros asleep. Love sleeps. He is winged because lovers are flighty and likely to change their minds, and boyish because love is foolish and irrational. In this case Cupid's bow and arrows hang lazily to the right on a torch whose flame endures but does not burn fiercely.
This is a portrait of non-sensual Love.
To the left is a figure of a virtue - Hope.
She stands by an Anchor in a very revealing garment.
Perhaps it is a tribute to a lost lover?
      Or an absent love?

      Nice!

It certainly is a clock in the French style. It may be a very nicely done reproduction. I don't see any maker's, or seller's signatures or stamps though. If you are comfortable doing so, unscrew the cup bell in the back of the movement to see if there is a maker's stamp, logo or award on the back plate of the movement. If so, try to get a photo and post it.
