Tommy Armour “Flying Scot” Signature Golf Balls

Circa 1950, the Flying Scot sleeve is mint and if you have read my other post you know I have a soft spot for Tommy Armour. The man was not just a regular Tommy, Dick or Harry. He serviced in the Tank Corps during World War I and went from a private to Staff Major. He had an audience with King George V, got hit by a Nazi mustard gas bomb, lost his sight, had metal plates implanted in his head and in his left arm, regained sight in his left eye. After all of that he still went on to play professional golf winning over 25 tournaments, including The U.S. Open, The PGA Championship, and The Open Championship (a.k.a. The British Open). That was a “Career Grand Slam” in my book, because The Masters did not start until “The Silver Scot” was forty years old.
