When I saw these earrings in the showcase, I immediately knew that they were Sherman and that I had to have them. It is hard to see in the photographs, but the quality of the aurora borealis rhinestones and the finishing are superior to many other costume jewelry items.
I believe that the earrings are from the 1960's.
The pin on the photo has been assembled with very similar rhinestones but is not marked and doesn't appear to be Sherman, however, it looks like the pin and earrings belong together (at least I will wear them together when I get a chance).
Sherman was one of the better Canadian costume jewelry manufacturer and its pieces are very popular here in Canada.
Thanks for looking:)
PhilDavidAlexanderMorris, I love the expression "king of bling!" I don't think there is a better way to describe Sherman.
Thanks a lot, bratjdd, Moodstonelover21, mustangtony, Manikin, and, of course, PhilDavidAlexanderMorris :)
I just looked at your setup very nice indeed I don't know who made mine but when my husband bought it back in the 70's from a jewellery store he pain a small fortune for it.
Well, it shows. Yours is very pretty and may be of better quality. I was lucky. I like to shop in second-hand stores. The Canadian winter is too long:( So I found both pieces for less than $10.
Thanks Zowie.
Awesome find and the pin looks sherman to me
Thanks vintagejewel. Yes, you are right, the pin looks like a perfect match, made by Sherman, but if you look at the back, it looks different. But it doesn't matter much to me. I love collecting for fun. :)
