This vintage cooler is metal, faded green, has two side lift up metal handles, and a drain plug on the side. Any brand has been worn off from exposure to our Florida salt air. Does anyone know what type it is or what is was used for. I love the shape and design, but don't think I'll be using it as a cooler....Thanks!

Hey Cory2605! Households starting using plastics pretty heavily in the 1960's and became dominant in the late 60's early 70's. My first thoughts on your cooler would be that it is from the late 1950's since it seems to be totally absent of any plastic parts. While that shouldn't rule out the 1960's, the salt air having eroded any surface markings will limit you to possibly possibly having to research the closing mechanism.
Just my $0.02 but hopefully that helps get you pointed in the right direction!

Thank you Washingtoncrunch. I will get my magnifying glass and look at the hardware so see if there is any trace of a manuf. I appreciate your help.
