What I believe to be a Copper Hand Well Pump. It says Union Mfg. Co. New Britian, Conn. July 8 1878. Has anyone ever seen one like this? I've only ever seen cast iron in well pumps. Any input would be great.

Yep, its back from around 1873 Union Mfg. Used on a farm land etc. Made of copper. Cast Iron pumps, people were worried that the Cast Iron was unhealthy so many tok the copper version. This is refered to as a Simple Hand Pump. Dave

Cool! Thanks Dave. Wondering if I should clean it up?

Just wipe it down with a damp cloth & dry. I would leave it with patina. Someone would love to hang this up in a country kitchen. Or put this in the top of a old wood barrel for decoration. Many uses. Dave

I have one exactly like this in perfect condition. Do you know how much it is worth?
