This necklace from the beginning of the 20th century is one of my most valuable but also one of my favourite pieces. It's Art Deco, 18 K yellow gold and there are 19 oval moonstone cabochon with inclusions or noticeable imperfections and a bluish sheen. It's hard to get a good picture of the color of the Moonstones. There are 20 round cut rubies and 31 small seed pears. The mid-section is 65 x 160 mm. The length of the chain is 39,5 cm and the total weight of approximately 48 grams. It's realy stunning! I hope you agree?
Agram.m, lovely necklace....I was looking at the "Moonstones" and are they clear or have natural inclusions? They seem a bit speckled or have a different colour display in them. Then the usual Blue,White or Peach adularescence Moonstones. Maybe they are Opals? I see more colours in the stones than a Moonstone would have. Just asking...curious...Thank you for sharing :))))
Hello Moonstonelover21 in answer on your above question my answer.
This necklace is from the beginning of the 20th century and in 18K yellow gold. There are 19 oval moonstone cabochon with inclusions or noticeable imperfections and a bluish sheen and very difficult for me to get a good picture. But definitively Moonstones and not opal.
As you know I have some other Moonstone jewels and also Opal so I know the difference! There are 20 round cut rubies and 31 small seed pearls. The mid-section is 65 x 160 mm. The length of the chain is 39,5 cm and the total weight of approximately 48 grams.
Agram.m, thank you for the clarification! I think the necklace is beautiful....thank you for sharing :)))) You are very blessed and lucky to have such a piece in your collection!!!!! :))))
