      Looks like a WW2 Army officers hat...it is missing the front band which is usually leather, age possibly around the 1950's. hope this helps out some what.

      Unless the colors are off it appears to be green.

      I think that the Army Greens became the standard Army uniform in 1956, so this would be no earlier than that.

      Greens from the 50s are unusual to find, so this is most likely from the 1960s at the earliest.

      I have to agree with Scott. There should be a gold band around the top front of the visor. Enlisted didn't have the gold screw caps on the sides, this is a junior officers hat. Senior officer would have had gold scrambled eggs on the visor.

      It is difficult to tell the exact era, since the class "A" green's have been in use for almost sixty years, and officer hat designs have been essentially the same during that period. If you unscrew and look at the back of the eagle badge, sometimes there will be a date stamp on the back. I can't find a current listing for the company, but Morry Luxenberg outfitters were still producing the same design in the late '80s:
