i don't know anything about Chinese pottery, but i thought this was pretty - for a buck. Can anyone tell me how old it is or anything else about it?

It's modern maybe 10 years to 20 old

The design is called Mun Shou. I have a red Mun Shou serving tray. You are missing a lid for your ginger jar- I have the same one in yellow.

      Good luck.

Are you still there? It's been three years since anyone posted, but here goes...I don't think your jar is as modern as 10-20 years. The mark is like mid-century Jingdezhen porcelain pieces of this type, circa 1950-1970s. Also, the base rim just looks like it has a little bit of age to it. I have a similar small jar (6.5cm high) in rose that has an almost identical mark to yours, and I'm sure of its age because of how long it's been around the house. Hope this helps.
