This sofa size litho has been in the family since at least the 1920s. My mother used to look at this and just swoon! Finally her uncle gave it to her in about 1930 (he was in the merchant marine and picked it up in Europe). I think the picture is beautiful and I also love the frame it's in. I can't see an artist's name and maybe on lithos they don't show that.
Anyone know anything about this?
They do show names on antique lithos, bottom right or left. Sometimes the frame covers the name and maker. If the back in NOT sealed you can take it out for a better look. If it is leave it be. What is the size? Dave

It's a sofa-size (4'1" x 2'3") and the back has some brown paper sealed over it. Is there value in the paper on the back or does that just leave it in it's original condition. (As you can tell I'm pretty new to this stuff.)
I took a picture of it to an antique shop a few years ago and they are the ones who told me it was a litho. They looked at it with a magnifying glass for quite a while but I don't know if they were looking for a name or at the frame or what.
Hi, If it has original dust cover on back one tends to say that the frame is original to the piece. I personally would not remove it, leave as is. I would say Late Victorian, many versions of "Lovers" during that time period. I would have to look at it as well, but it does have the look of being hand tinted. They were looking for a dot pattern, newer prints under magnifing glass shows small dots. Lithos will not. Frame looks to be Art Deco in style and could be a good frame maker. If it were mine I would have 400.00-500.00 retail price. Dave
