Not real sure where this is from. I can find no tag. It has belonged to my mother for 45 or 50 yrs or so. I think there used to be a bird in the ditty bag.

I'm so jealous! You have a Red Skeleton HoBo doll!
Red Skelton! Really!?! I had no idea! This doll sat on my mother's bed for about fifty years. She recently gave them to me (i'm not really into dolls) and I decided to find out what I could. Can you tell me more about it?
I know if you want to find them you have to spell his name "Skeleton" haha I found some that went for auction, four different ones. I have never seen one up close, and only saw one once on a doll forum. I'll see what I can dig up.
We have a doll just like this in very good condition that we are trying to sell. Would you know what the value is? Thank you!
I can't find one instance of how much these dolls go for. I have searched under the correct spelling (Red Skelton HoBo doll) and incorrect spelling. I know he is a cross collectable. There are many people out there that collect Red's movies and art. I did find the set of four dolls on that "Live auction" place where like worthpoint they want you to sign up...that would only give you a small idea how much one might go for.
Here's a link to that live auction site Vestawind's talking about. They do have an estimate for the set of four. http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/4696071
IMO those estimates aren't worth much. They know that. that is why they put those up. What they really want is you to join.
Plus lots are not a good estimate either. They can go either way price wise.
I really have no idea what these are worth. I only know they sat on my mom's bed for as long as I can remember. She said she had gotten them ineither the late forties or early fifties.
Thank you! I searched as well and couldn't find any for sale or that had been sold other than the site you mentioned and I am always skeptical when I have to pay money to a site like that! I am trying to research prices on over 300 dolls and it is pretty overwhelming!
Post them here. I'll help where I can
I found this listing. It looks very similar but slightly different.

Rushton dolls has it's own following, and this is not a Rushton. You can list one like your as a cross collectable. I would think with the right buyer you could get more than $60
Although... we may have this backwards. Let me do some digging. Rushton might HAVE made these and were influenced by Red
I can't find who made Freddy the Freeloader, but I do know on that lot of four you have several different clowns there. You have an Emmett Kelly doll, a possible Rushton, and I'm not sure about the one to the left, and one Freddy. Those are not all Red Skelton dolls.
I'm sorry too add this to your page, however, I own a Red Skelton puppet and I can't find anything on the web about a price or anything of that nature. I would like too know about how much it is worth and maybe depending on the price try and sell it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can e-mail me if you wish if anyone knows anything about this item. Thanks again.
OMG!! I have been looking into buying a coiple of these dolls for my mother. Mothers Day. They are so cute & our friends have one.

I have been given a Kinder, Red Skelton Freddie the Freeloader doll. Still in it's original box, still with original care tag attached. It looks and feels "old" if that describes it, while the packaging is old but there is bubble wrap in it so not sure how old that would make it. The tag says it is porcelain and he feels hefty. He comes with his hobo napsack but is missing the wooden stick to carry it. He does not stand but looks like it was desined to maybe sit on a shelf with the legs hanging over. The feet are heavier than the legs. Anyone have any idea what the doll may be worth?
-I was given one of these dolls when I was ill as a child sometime in the late 1950's. I still have it, but it is missing the ditty as well as the hat. One of the heels has blown out and I repaired it crudely with a piece of denim. I named him Mr. Morgan after the bartender who gave him to me. He became my "hospital doll" after that. After his foot injury about 15 years ago, he was retired to the toy box and replaced with "blue bunny". Even adults sometimes need comforting while in the hospital.
I have been searching for info on 2 red skelton puppets (1 blue named fang and 1 pink). Very important n thank u so much.
