    Does anyone know what kind of wood this is, when it may have been made, etc. I know that it needs to be re-stained and varnished but I have also heard that some of the value comes from the patina. Can anyone suggest what would be best? It is currently being used but it isn't very pretty without reworking the finish.

      Do you have any idea what year this was made? I have a similar dresser...at least it has the same type of pulls and the same legs.
