A curious shell art lamp. The huge conch shell with pink inside is the lampshade - it has a hole cut in the end to fit down over the light. A small tree crotch hold up the shade, with large brass staples in positions to hold the conch in place - the conch sits on the staples. The base is smaller shells in a nice design glued to wood. There is a signature in one corner of the base inside a clam shell - but I can't make it out. The electric plug was crushed and I replaced it with a 1950s era plug. The wiring is old but still safe. The shells have a finish that looks like it might be shellac as it is a little yellow. Someone spent a great deal of time putting this thing together. I think it's great!
