Not exactly like the copper tone there, but in that direction.

Year for the design is about 1959, and the designer may be either Gunnar Nylund or Asta Stromberg. I think Gunnar Nylund in this case, but sure you can never be, unless it can be verified in any way. In a few other models with rounded shapes and engraved motifs, I have seen the vase signed by author for both model and engravings. For example, the B 820, B 888 and B 892, where Asta Stromberg (B820, maybe B 888) and Gunnar Nylund (B 892) stood for the model and Rune Strand/Asta Stromberg for engraving motif (C 908, a scating dancer). In one of the vases (Nylunds B 892), Asta Sromberg was not mentioned for the engraving motif C 908, but only Rune Strand. In all case, for the B 820 Asta was mentioned as author for shape, and for engraving motif C908 in collaboration with Rune Strand.

The vase I show here is of excellent quality, both in design and manufacturing. Simple and clean in shape, pleasing to the eye to look at (which in itself may indicate more on Asta Stromberg than Nylund). Why I still attribute the model to Nylund is more due to my intuition than facts I have seen, so I leave it a little open who stands behind the design for B 912. I hope to bring more clarity about the design for several models from Strombergshyttan forwards.

Hi austro! Have you seen this vase: http://nyshowplace.com/content/images/800x600/2_main.jpg
It's by Rune Strand and from Sea glassworks, 1977-89. A design inspirated from Strombergshyttan about 1959 (the Sputniks B 895). Rune Strand worked as engraver and designer in Strombergshyttan 1962/63 - 1968, for Hovmantorp 1969-1977 and for Sea 1977-1989. When Studioglas Strombergshyttan started up 1987 Rune Strand hired out some of his his colored sommerso production for Sea to them (Studioglas Strombergshyttan had more skilled blowers and could make the vases as Rune wanted them. Can your ronded vase in gold/yellow underlay may be a vase by Rune Strand for Sea?

Did Rune Strand sign the vases for Sea, rebessin?

I don't know how they signed the glas in SEA, or if they only used labels? What I know, they mostly used labels, without signing.

I do have one piece that is signed SEA and some numbers. I've just been looking for it but can't find it at the moment. I will check again. It has a Lindstrand look to it.

Edit 2013 07 03: I think this can be a design by Asta Stromberg, due to facts I recently have found. Nylund was (from documents) not working for Strombergshyttan between 1957 - 1966. Possible a late released model by Nylund? But it's to late in that case, so I think Asta can be the author for this model. It's also her style. I try to get more clarity forwards.
