I wanted something special for my 100th post, so I chose my Grandmother's antique Japanese hand painted lacquer lamp. I've always been a bit puzzled as to exactly what it's made of and how it's finished. It's definitely ceramic not porcelain. Has some gold accents with a painted scene of a house by the water with boats and birds. I carried this with me everywhere and thank God it never got broken. I did replace the round wooden base with a heavier metal one for stability. I still have the wood base. While I had it off I looked for marks but there is nothing. It's had new cords, plugs and shades over the years but it still is pretty much original and in great shape. Don't really know how old it is but I love it and you too Grandma. Thanks for the keepsake. -Mike-
