    Hello! I bought this at a local antique store. I thought the price was good. I believe it is called moriage, but I am not quite sure. It is new to me. This is much different than the other pieces I see online. It lacks the traditional Japanese imagery common with this style. It almost makes me think it is NOT Japanese........? THanks!!!!!

      Looks more like Italian, Spanish, or Portuguese majolica with a bit of "moriage" thrown in . Very nice too !

      mikelv85 I see what you are saying. The odd thing here is that this piece is entirely abstract. I haven't found any other pieces in all my searches without a definite flower, animal, person or other illustration. This particular jug leaves everything for interpretation. Strange.
