J Herczfeld, I have researched this Artist way back, n ot much is know about him. I know he was a Europena Artist. Not being known, he may have been a Tourist Artist, selling his art work to people off the streets or small vending booth. Dave

Just now seeing this information while looking for other art by J Herczfeld. I’m lucky enough to own four of HER beautiful paintings that she gave my Granny decades ago. My Granny was the supervisor of Fitzgerald Underwear (now Berlin Corp) in Tifton, Georgia from the 50s-early 80s. During that time, there was a German engineer that came to help them set up some new machines. The engineer brought his wife, J Herczfeld, with him and they stayed for several weeks at the Holiday Inn in Tifton. To pass time during the day while her husband worked, Mrs. Herczfeld would paint. She quickly became friends with my Granny and gifted her six paintings. Two pair were duplicates, which I have shared with a family friend that admired my set. I’ll get them all posted in “Show & Tell” for everyone to see and enjoy. I wish I knew the Herczfeld’s first names or where they were from in Germany.
