i love, love, love this book - and have since i was 12 yrs old. I found this 1943 copy in a junk store in Mendocino a few wks ago. Believe it or not, i have a dustjacket from the same year, but was missing the book till i found this one. Now, i have to dig through all my suitcases of paper stuff to find it. Grownups!

Just as an fyi as it's not identified in this posting.
This is an early English translation of the French language classic, "Le Petit Prince" (The Little Prince) by Antoine de Saint-Exupery first published in 1943. I guess most consider it a children's book. Not really.
It has been translated into many different languages.
In high school, I took a conversational French course an aspect of which was to read a range of popular French literature ranging from Camus to Georges Simenon (his Detective Maigret stories) to Ionesco (the play "Rhinoceros") and of course, this book in the original French.
Trust me, I didn't appreciate having to read this stuff then it as much then as I do now.
Groveland.
