Wonderful Large and Old African American Gnome!!

I've been trying to get this wonderful old gnome for about six months and the owner finally agreed to sell it to me yesterday. I just love how he's painted - particularly the shiny gold shoes. The man i bought it from says it was painted in the late 40s or early 50s by an old man in the neighborhood. I think that the basket is to plant something in. Apart from the paint, he's exactly like the other large gnome i posted a couple months ago.
