I found these a long time ago in a landfill near the Alameda Naval Base. I think that they are doors or covers to something. They are solid copper and have a great patina. Each one is about 12" across.

Possibly the ends of canisters for ord. shells. Anything explosive is packed using copper & non-ferrous materials. The ends were usually copper. I've had a few in the past.

I wonder what was soldered onto it & why the double crease/brake marks across the center?
