Hi cw members -- first of all thanks for all your kind thoughts and well wishes in regards to the fire we had May 18th -- well the weekend is here so ted and i will have the house all to ourselves to go through and pick through the rubble and try and salvage some of the treasurers
This is one of the four of the Florance Ceramic Figurines that my grandmother gave to me -- I had her and the other three stored in the garage in the loft above where the fire started to give to my daughter the next time we traveled to Nebraska --
Abagail was the first to be found after the fire -- but she was a goner -- ted saw matilda hanging up in one of the rafters and came in to show me -- we just could not get to her as there was just too much rubble -- well today ted and i went after her -- i kept telling her to hang in there -- i took her into the house and no cracks or fractures -- just loss of some of the glazing where the foam hit her -- this amazes me -- the apple box that i had her stored in with other glassware would have totally burned and then she would have dropped from the attic down into the loft area and then was caught in a burned rafter -- plus she took a good hit of the foam the firemen used to quench the fire -- i wished i would have had my camera with me but i was so excited to get her cleaned up -- i just could not wait until tomorrow to bring the camera and take before pics --
she is with us tonight in our new digs and i must say she brightens up the room -- little rosemary and yvonne are still missing -- but perhaps tomorrow a piece of rubble will be pulled away and they will be found also -- will take the camera in case i get lucky and take some before pics

thanks amberrose -- we are all fine -- today will be another snoop day to find more treasures and clean them up -- that smoke is something else to try and get off -- oily eater and clorox cleanup even have problems with removing it -- brought a few pieces of glassware back to the inn to try and run through the dishwater -- that was a bust -- awful tenacious stuff -- have a great weekend girlfriend

hi jay -- we are all fine and once they connect the phone back up i will give you a call -- tell syd not to worry -- just another one of life's adventures that makes one stronger after it is all over -- and as grandmother always use to say "a hundred years from now we'll never know the difference" hope you are enjoying your weekend

hi jay -- just getting ready to sky out of here -- stop at fred meyers for coffee and to pick up some more boxes -- all refreshed and ready to go -- had a wonderful shower and they always feed us a very nice breakfast at the inn -- the address is the home as ted and i will be there most everyday to water and take care of the yard -- yesterday was so pretty -- wore my shorts for today and wouldn't you know it -- the rain is back again -- burrrrrrrrr --

oh my goodness nativejewelrylovers -- i am so very happy to be in contact with another collector -- i live in vancouver, wa and doug foland (author of the first book on florence ceramics) and i are very good friends -- he was over just the day before the fire to bar b que with us -- he couldn't believe it when i emailed him the next day -- we are hoping to bring the collectors together in portland oregon in 2014

thanks sean -- everyday is a learning experience with the fire -- sometimes the plastic or cardboard cases have to be cut open and you would swear the item would have been totally destroyed -- but when inside -- you often find it in perfect condition

thanks kerry -- got the huffy bike down -- she will need a complete new paint job -- but that will have to happen later -- right now she had her bath and is in storage -- started looking for parts to replace on her -- such as mirror, odometer, finders etc etc -- have a great week
If I see or hear of any parts, I'll contact you, BTW, I'll be looking for them, might have a friend with what every you'll need
