I when to look for a wooden box to put in my bookshelf so I found this and it's not fancy but I liked it.I opened it and it smell like fresh wood(cedar,is what the lady in the store told me),and the box looks old to me too.

I have a couple of similar boxes. They were made to hold stationary in the 40's and possibly earlier. I love mine!
Ok,thank you JD for the details,this looks to me not like a commercial box,but if you have similar boxes probably it is.
And I certainly like mine too,I like to open it and stick my nose inside,smells good!

A local furniture store gifted each young lady at our High School a simular Lane cedar box at graduation, to hold their festoons of high school in. (And hopefully they would remember the store when they wed and were in need of furnishings).
