I plan on restoring this clock. Any ideas from anyone on how much it would cost to clean the rust off of it, and repaint it? It has a wheel in the back that spins the fast second hand, and it tends to stick, so, I put some WD 40 on it, and its not sticking as much. It has some dirt in the face of it. Should I remove the front off of it? or should I leave it? I'm afraid I wont get it back on.
The clock is of little antique value due to the sheer number produced and not terribly attractive. The main value is you have a functional clock.
Some of these clocks would run backwards if you plugged it in one way, or forward when plugged the other. We liked to mess with teachers minds. When the end of class bell rang, someone would unplug and replug it the other way.
cool. good to know :-)
