I recently acquired these two Matching Vases by trading some jewelry with a local Dealer. He called these vases simply Bohemian Glass but I was advised that they were by LEGRAS of Paris, France and were introduced at the "Exposition Universelle de Paris in 1889. They are marked underneath with 5DD on one, and 5DG on the other. They measure 10" tall by 6" across, have a 4 cornered rim, are profusely decorated in gold and have Copper Aventurine throughout. Thanks everyone!! RER (LOUMANAL)

hello fabolous pieces !
Its a pair of Vase created by the Verreries and Cristalleries of Saint-Denis (Legras) for The Exposition Universelle of paris in 1889, so they are very rare ! This colour is call "fire red" and opaline with some details of gold
I hope get a vase like this for my collection one day ...
very very beautiful !
MERCI, Robert
Translation- So they are not creations of the HARRACH Company. Really, I was never convinced that they were Harrach but the marks & numbers 5DD & 5DG were marks known to have been used by Harrach. I'm very pleased and proud to know that they were rare pieces made by LEGRAS, Thanks, Robert
Pouvez vous me dire où les avez vous trouvés ? car c'est vraiment étonnant qu'ils se soient trouvé au Canada.
Id'like to know were do you found this pair of vases, because it's very surprising that the were in Canada.

A fresh review of late 1800's French vases!
Hi czechglass5! Thank you for the comments. There was a direct link made to the 1889 Exposition Universelle at one time but the link was deleted. I noticed that other CW members had uploaded similar French identified vases recently and I wanted to throw this pair into the frey!
Thanks bracken3 for the love. RER
