I purchased this bottle from a lady about 40 years ago. She thought it was an ink bottle. I looks like some ink stains in the bottle. The bottle is clear glass and clean except for the ink stains. On the bottom, it is marked B & L. I measures 4 3/4" long x 1 5/16" wide x 1 1/4" high. It has what appears to be its original cork. The bottle is quite old as the seam ends short of the neck's lip. I have been unable to find any information on this bottle.
Nice little bottle. While often called inks you bottle really is a lady's perfume. I have what looks to the same bottle with it original label. Very cool bottle and from the looks 1870 to early 1900.
I concur with dollarbill. For sure perfume. I found some on e-bay. Here is what one said FIGURAL HELEOTROPE BOTTLE, POSSIBLY PERFUME, SHAPE OF LACED SHOE, ORIG.CORK R&M
