Well this is better than nothing. Today was a complete bust except for this. A little 5 1/2" square dark green glass bottle. The neck has a flared thick top and maybe had a stopper, It has a very interesting feel like it's oily. Somewhat iridescent looks almost black till the light shines through it. The thing that intrigued me was the mark and all the numbers on the bottom. Which would indicate maybe something that's not your ordinary bottle. The mark itself is a circle with a "V" in the middle. Within the "V" is what looks like a "W" or an "N" On each side of that are a "3" and an "A" The numbers on the one edge are "25 c 1345" and something else I can't read clearly. Thinking caps please.... need this mark ID'd -Mike-

NOTE: Mystery Solved ! I even added the smallest of the 3 green glass stoppers I had posted earlier. A perfect fit,the right proportions and a bit of contrast too !

Here's some background on Vetri Speciali courtesy of thier website :

    Pergine Valsugana (TN)

The unit in Pergine Valsugana, Trento, is a tradition by now. Established in 1974, formerly known as Nord Vetri, this is the “smelting furnace” that marked the beginning of our great adventure in the production of special bottles. This is, as a matter of fact, the birthplace of the famous Vetro Antyco, synonymous with classy containers

Don't you just hate the dry days? I hit a zillion garage sales on my way home from work with "meh" results.

Whats even worse is that gas is almost 4 dollars a gallon here in Ohio. I drive 50 miles round trip some days and come home with nothing. I think garage sales kill the thrift shops in the Summer. You would think out of 6 stores you'd find something. Add to that it's been dreary and raining for two days. Everyone's garage sales are getting rained out. Talk about depressing..lol but tomorrow's another day !

The thrifts pop on Tuesday when everyone dumps their unsold items. Agree late week equals NADA! We were rained out last week. Loads this weekend. Plan on a morning of treasure hunting. Good luck! Lets circle back here at the end of the weekend and compare notes

It's almost impossible eye. I've tried every angle under my desk lamp and it still doesn't photograph well. It's a circle with a V with in the V is and N or W. that's the best way I can describe it.

Ugh..more Italian art glass. I should have known...lol. Probably not all that old either. So what do you want in return for your sleuthing skills ??

It's always fun to have help so you can actually ID pieces to the tee ! You learn so much. I know we all have tons of things that are frustrating us by not knowing who made them. Among them for me is still that piece of "matte green" art pottery I first posted and a few of the vases. The "maybe" Chinese "sang de boeuf " vase I posted last week I'm sure is something of value. Those can be a real pain to ID...lol. Thanks Eye you're the best !
