This little man (?) I also found at a fleamarket. I have no idea how old it could be nor who is the designer. Is it Bennett style? Anyone knows? Thank you!!

I went to different antigque stores in Vienna where they are specialised in WW etc - they all tell me the style could be him, but not the material

I don't think it is pot metal as it is heavy for its size. could be silver-plated but I don't know the base

Wow Phil, thanks, i have just seen it and they look very alike!! the weird thing for me is the round base which is not made of metal. looks like some kind of gum/rubber. unfortunatly it has no stamp nowhere

Base looks original to piece to me, the scale and patina fit the size/age, but you never know .
I agree with Phil that it has a Hagenauer "look" to it!

Hi Claudia, love him. I picked up a similar figure on a base, though its base is a type of wood, (possibly faded ebony). Like you i wondered if it was silver or nickel plate. I thought they look similar. Is yours very shiny?

Hi again, Claudia, May i ask how high your figure is? Also is that a metal plug on the underside of the the rubber base?

Hi Vintagfran! Yes, they look similar!! At the beginning I also thought my one could be in the style of Hagenauer, but as it is not signed nobody paid attention. In Vienna I showed it to some WW experts, but no response....I don't have it at home now so I can't say how much it measures, lets say maybe 15cm. Yes, it is very shiny. l can't remember if it is a metal plug, but maybe I find more pics on my computer!

Hi Claudia, Interesting. They're about the same height. My figure measures 14cm from the base of the figure, not inc. the screw or wooden plinth. The style & finish look very similar i thought. Yours doesn't stand on a metal plinth. Can your figure be removed from its base? Unusual its rubber isn't it? I've seen wood & marble ones but not rubber.
