Beautiful ! I would suggest you take it to a jeweler and have a appraisal . Since we can not on here by a photo validate ,diamonds, gold ect . It needs to be seen in person by a Gem expert . There are several places to sell it online but you will need papers to verify it as authentic to buyers . We do not sell or buy on this site but it was nice to see your friends stunning watch . Welcome to CW where we share collectibles and knowledge along with helping to ID items when we can . Several jewelry experts on site I will let them chirp in as they know more than I do on jewelry .

Thankyou. We've had it appraised but would like to find somewhere reliable to try and sell it. I'm based in NW London / Hertfordshire. Is there anywhere that you could recommend?

We have some people on here from your area that might have a idea I am in US . Hopefully someone from London will come on and give you a idea . I would think there are major Auction sites in you local area vs selling online . Just a thought :-) see as day goes if anyone comes on CW can give you an idea in your area .

This watch would be circa 1950. Cocktail watches where beauty and function come together. It is a back wind model (the adjustment wheel is hidden from view) and this is a sign of higher quality. The name of course is that of great Swiss watch maker. Ladies watches aren't as collectible (or as high priced) as men's watches, however at auction a watch like this should bring between $5,000 and $8,000. Your best venue for sale would be a large auction house who specializes in fine jewellry, you can expect to pay around 20% of its sale value in commission fees. If you have the original box and papers, the value is greater. Forget seeing your local jeweller or "cash for gold" kiosk, this is a fine timepiece and it's a specialized market. Good luck, it's a beauty.
