Really neat looking walking stick. I think it is made out of some sort of horn or bone, but I can't find anything like it so I really have no idea. Found it in an estate sale and just fell in love with it, so I bought it for $5. It is flexable, so I think it is mostly for an accessory rather than actually to help with walking, Either way, I'd just like to know a little more about it.
Any marks on the silver top? Dave
What a deal for $5
Yes, it was a great deal. It says K&H.28CA Sterling on top
I can find walking sticks and Handles for umbrellas going from 1895 up to 1910. Not much more? Looks to have horn wrapped around shaft? They would steam horn and once it was soft they would curl it around pole. I say your stick is worth 350.00-400.00 because of its unusual look. Dave
Wow, didn't expect that! very neat.
I have done fairly well with Walking sticks & canes lately. Prices seems to have not been effected by economy. People who collect them are still willing to pay for the unusual ones. Dave
Where would I sell this one?
Price I gave would be retail, that is in a shop. You can try email but you may get half of retail. Or just google Antique Walking Sticks and look at some of the dealers who also buy. Dave
Try eBay! LOL
