Misidentified as a contemporary studio vase and signed with a fake LCT signature and an applied paper label this unnoticed early example of QUEZAL Art Glass was recently sold at auction. The vase stands almost 9" tall and is decorated with five gold iridescent hooked feathers with purple highlights over a deep purple iridescent body with delicate vertical ribbing from top to bottom.
The finely polished concave pontil is unsigned.
Could you ad some base shots of some of your pieces, it would be a nice reference for art glass admirers:)
JJZ : I saw that and was so tempted......I knew it wasn't new. Glad you got it.
Hello sarahoff, if you have the time to look through some of my posted Quezal examples there are several with base shots showing the pontil and signatures...thanks for your request.
FWF, July 8th is rapidly approaching...what kind of cake would suit you ???
Hope you got the compote....
JJZ : a little cupcake placed in the top of this vase would be nice. Nix on the compote. Went to the Casino in R.I. and they took ALL my money.
