I like this piece because I know very little about it. I quess, it is from 60's or 70's, made of Lucite, and wood with a barrel screw closure. I got it from a friend who Mother passed away. Her mother was an artist, living in New York city as an art student. She lived in the west and then to Ohio for most of her life. She collected Fashion jewelry, some fine jewelry and some that she just liked, all with an artist eye. Her daughter knows nothing about this piece, neither did the experts I asked. The red lines look painted inside cuts in the Lucite circle. The color circles looked glued or fused on. The beads are a combination of Lucite and word, and metal (don't think they are silver) beads. The circle is about 4" and hangs mid chest on an average person. I have cleaned it just with a jeweler cloth to remove dusty type dirt.
Wow, that's actually a really neat piece
Which whisch is which?
This is really nice! I'm interested to hear what others say. I have a couple of ones from the 30's (?) that include wooden pieces. I'm going to take some photos tomorrow!
It has that "70's/80's-does-Deco" look
From my experience, there isn't a lot of this type of jewelry that's able to be identified to aparticular manufacturer, but it really doesn't matter. It stands on its own just fine, its very attractive and desirable.
Vetraio, I'll bet you're talking about those Czech rainbow-colored wooden beads aren't you? Miriam Haskell used those in some of her jewelry
Sorry, I am new at this and I think I post the same thing twice.
