The Backward Swastika

Just picked up a small group of Japanese pins and military medals probably brought back by a post WWII era GI. The most interesting piece in the group was this swastika pin which believe it or not, has nothing to do with the Nazis. I posted this pin on the Wehrmacht Awards site as a “what is it” and was quickly informed that it is a Pusan Buddhist Priest’s membership pin. Pusan is in South Korea so the pin probably dates back to the years 1910-45 when Korea was under Japanese occupation.
