Here's two more large oils on canvas from the height of Mid -century decor. Granted they are a bit stained and worn and the biggest one is severely cracked but that adds to the appeal, at least for me. I just clean them up the best I can and hang them. The pictures really don't do them justice. They are both harbor scenes with moored boats. The largest one is 45" x 32" framed. The smaller one is 30" x 26" framed. I really love paintings of ships and boats which seem to be favorite subject through the 60's and 70's. The clouds are very well done in both of these. The biggest one has the boats done in a very thick Italian "impasto" while the smaller one is a bit more French "impressionistic". Both are signed but it's almost impossible to decipher the names to look them up. I love these, but they sure are hard on the wall space !

I know it's maddening Geno , but chances are they were not listed artists anyway even if you knew their names. Still, you know they painted more than one picture. Probably an art students day job for the tourists. I've even heard some famous artists used fake names on early works that they did just to pay the bills. Signatures never look like the real name most of the time. Thanks for mentioning "Lark" hadn't thought of that one ! :)

I grew up on the ocean and there was a harbour scene every five miles. The one on the left reminds me of that.
