I believe this is a WELZ Czech Vase.... It was bought overseas from France from an elderly lady who said it was her mothers and had been in her family since she believes the 1930's or before. It stands 16 1/4 inches tall and is in PERFECT condition. The decor has mottled colors of maroon, yellow and blue with a nice shinny iridized glow. The rim is ground like you would find on most Czech vases. Special thanks to my beautiful wife who agreed to model the vase to help emphasize the enormousness of this piece. I really would love to hear feed back from everybody and anybody as I am only offering my opinion of what I think this vase is.
Crazy vase, the size makes the vase look massive but the shape looks feminine, good call...sometimes the risk is worth it. Congrats!
Thanks Kyle!! It is a cool piece to have! I would of leaned towards Kralik myself, but had a friend tell me the base/foot and shape looked welz...but just some ones opinion.
Thanks Jericho...It is an impressive piece.
Wow beautiful.. and the vase too!
I'm thinking Belgian by Scailmont ??
Heresy I know..but...
I think some of what we attribute to Bohemian / Czeh makers are actually by this maker as they produced some very similar pieces.
OOOps Czech sorry for typo
Thanks Ozmarty! and thanks for the input/opinion.
Thanks to everybody for the Loves!
Kyle is right, it's Kralik...
