Double the "Loves" on this beauty. How do you display or store your collection? If you have it displayed, I love to see a group shot of whats to come. :-)
Amazing!
thank you mickey133
You have a very impressive collection.
Thank You vonsboy , I am glad to be able to share with everyone at CW
Have been admiring your Lapel pocketwatches again, they are in amazing condition and was wondering if I might ask a question? Are the inserts original? Due to the scarcity, reproduction inserts are so common today due to the scarcity and demand.
Even the entire Ingersoll Mickey boxes are being reproduced.
Thank you vonsboy, I looked at my 3 lapel watches and as for as I see they are original boxes and inserts. All are with the stand up backing for display and 1 has all papers and instructions for displaying. I looked for a long time to find these. The one not pictured here has a button with Mickey like the one above but it is about 2 3rds the size. I did not know they were being reproduced thank you for letting me know will be more carful in the future. thanks Mickey
They are indeed fabulous! Well done reproductions allow collectors to complete items that otherwise wouldn't be because some parts are just impossible to find.
Your collection is a testament to your diligence! I have wanted a really nice Lapel
Watch for awhile but ones as good as yours are just impossible to find now.
sorry to take so long to reply vonsboy, I do not turn on computer every day. Be patient and keep looking as people that collect and get older start selling and the items they have that they bought years ago and are primo pieces come up for sale or auction. I looked for these for 15 years. good luck Mickey
You are right of course, I've looked for an original standee like the one I just posted for 20 plus years but the few that exist are in major collections so I had to settle for a reproduction! I began collecting in 1986 and still very much enjoy the thrill of the hunt. I believe collecting is an art in itself.
You are so right vonsboy some of the items in my collection are from some major collectors that have decided to sell some. And with me if I like it and really want it and I can afford it at the time price is not an object
I very much enjoy looking at your collection. We seem to enjoy a lot of the same things and it is a pleasure to share it.
Yes vonsboy I very much like looking and sharing . I just do not have much time to post right now with trying to deal with recovering from problems from my last chemo session. At the end of the day I am real tired and do not turn on the computer. I will post more in the near future. What other Disney items do you collect and are interested in? Or other collectables?
I'm sorry to hear you're not well, hope better days are ahead for you. I began collecting Mickey Mouse watches in 1986 when I first realized that the Mickey
watch that I got for my ninth birthday was not the first Mickey watch made and
began to learn the history of these timepieces. And when a dealer/friend showed
me the first English wristwatch I began trying to find the English timepieces and
that's where I am today. I have the projector but I don't really collect any other
Disneyana. Mel Birnkrandt and Bernie Shine were ahead of the curve and were
able to assemble fabulous collections before prices skyrocketed.
@mickeysmagic -- Sorry to hear you are not well, but keep Mickey in your heart and in your Smile and face each day!!

THANK YOU vonsboy and antiquerose for the well wishes
You are more than welcome. I hope you are feeling much better and are back on the hunt so to speak.
I have acquired a Lapel watch, am looking for a box, as the pre eminent finder of
Lapels please keep an eye out for me! Hope your chemo days are behind you and
in the thick of it all as usual!
Thanks for the well wishes, I will keep an eye out for a box and let you know if I find one. Yes my chemo days are behind me right now but I am going in on Wednesday 23rd for a biopsy on a lymph node under my lt. arm that has enlarged a lot. I will more than likely be doing some kind of treatment in the next 6 months or before. Will just keep plugging along as everything is beyond my control it is just life as I know it.
I'm very pleased to hear that you are better and I hope you continue to improve.
Hope the biopsy went well MM and that if you need treatment it is only a short course. Best wishes x
Am hoping all is well and that Santa will bring you a fine MM prezzie x
Thank you Wandlesfairy, All is well for now the biopsy is in line with the leukemia that I have and not a more aggressive lymphoma, witch is a good thing so I just watch the swelling to see if it gets worse. The frustrating thing is the wait and see game nature plays with you.Hope you and yours have a great holidays.
Thank you MM and I hope your lymph node dislikes the cold weather and stays away !! With two friends having chemo now, I know how very exhausting waiting for Mother Nature is. Am waiting for another one of your amazing posts. They frequently help me with the " do I ? Don't I ? " Figure if you, Kerry or Vonsboy have one then I can't go wrong ha ha . The very best to you x
