      I can't see the inside of yours – or the bottom of the one at this link, but they appear to be similar? My uncle, who is in his mid-80's bought one similar to the one at this link when he was 15. He told me it was carved from one piece of wood. Hope it helps!

      different things. it's called cinnabar box which has hundreds layers of lacquer on top and then carved into to make motif. The char spells "made in Qianlong period" but no way to be that old. Just decades old and worth something.

      no actually Shrine is IMO wrong because there is a great difference in made in Qianlong and the actually da ging qian long nian zhi which means made during the qianlong reign of the Qung dynasty

      first of all the mark is heavingly stylised

      second of all IMO this is a sort of repeting etymologische fallacy, because we probably agree about the Zhuanshu and suddenly peek a boo the right mark on top row is in normal Kaishu script, this is cute but completely bogus and Frankensteined
