I found this at local sale in an old barn desk. It's a military coat Button but I'm not sure from what period or from what branch. It's labeled N.S.Meyer New York and is made of Brass on the front cover. Could anyone help me answer the questions to this button.

US Army overcoat button. I believe this is WW1 era, but it could be inter war to early WW2.
