Here is my favorite radio type item I recently purchased. I think the exposed tubes make it look really nice. This is a Freed Eisemann Broadcast Receiver Model NR-215. It measures approximately 14½” x 17½” and 7 tall to the top surface and 9½” tall with the exposed tubes. I was surprised at how clean it was inside.
I have not found anything like it on the internet.
Anyone know exactly what it was used for.
Thanks,
Trenchartman
Hello Trenchartman, this is a very beautiful radio and in great shape!
For what I could understand, this is a MW radio receiver from the 1920's, it is only a receiver, it needs a headphone or speaker connected to it (the transducer).
It is a Hazeltine Neutrodyne type radio that requires proper alignment of the circuits in order to reach its best performance.
I could find only this:

There's a series of books from Alan Douglas (Radio Manufacturers of the 1920s) that in its volume 2, mentions the history and products made by Freed-Eisemann.
