Thats a cool disc/button sign, cant believe you found it while, mowing the lawn!!!! I wish I could get that lucky! I have not seen this version before, usually its a white background with the bottle, or red background no bottle but Coca-Cola slogan. This version maybe really rare? I know the white background with bottle is pretty rare, retails for 700$ mint, no idea what this one is worth. I think yours is from the 1950's, but not positive, is it porcelian, or just tin?

I believe it is tin and also believe it was at one time orange in color , I have seen many with the logo across the bottle but not just on the bottle it is very light in weight which makes me think it is tin

Old Coca-Cola button signs are highly collectible and command relatively high prices when excellent condition. I've seen this version in white but not red. Here is a link to an auction result, where a smaller red one in much nicer condition was included in a lot.

Description lists as c. 1950's. I could see this sign being purchased for restoration, after which it would bring a premium on the open market. The very small and very large buttons seem to be most popular. In current condition, I estimate value at 100-200 USD. But one never knows with eBay. If you do sell it, I can tell you from experience, ship cost will be approx $75-$100. It would be a cool piece to hang "as is" and regale admirers with the story of how you found it.

This was likely used for a fire pit years ago, which would explain the current condition and where you found it . These were very plentiful, and many were used for toboggans, targets, and tabletops, to name just a few !

Basically worthless, I would hang it outside and let it finish being destroyed by the weather.

I'm tellin' ya Perry, this stuff sells. I look at a lot of eBay auctions. It doesn't take much effort to find results like this:

The hottest fad right now in the automotive world is "Rat Rods", the crustier and rustier the better! I could see this in the same category, some designer hanging this in a loft in NYC and charging their client $$$$ for the "patina"!!

Check out this "Rat Rod"!! Wow, people really do go a touch cookoo for cocopuffs!!

I understand the old timers, condition snobs, and "purists" simply can't accept that these items sell for good money on a regular basis, they indeed have value. The market yields what the market demands. This aint' 1973.

I agree, with Daddy_Nobucks, and TGBWC. There is still rusty gold out there, and my generation, is the generation that will pay for it. Finding mint examples is getting harder and harder as the years go by and it will get to the point were original mint examples are unheard of. This sign has value, but wouldnt say much more than 100$. This is straight up a filler piece, something you would invest little to no money in because you couldn't wait or couldn't find a better example.

When it comes to restoring these signs, I totally agree with TGBWC. Leave sign as is, there's way too many reproductions out there, if you restore this button, its just going look like a recently made button. Its got alot of character to it, and a funny story behind it, hang it and enjoy it!

I have a metal double sided, round, aprox. 46" w/ logo "drink Coca-Cola in bottles" and have not been able to find any info on it.
