Hello.I wonder if some one can tell my something about this nice lamp
I think its from the early 20 century. It is made of glass and the inside is??
its a mark on the lamp as follow. Chicago/Usa Sterling.Means? Like it very mutch and think the lamp is unusally.
Sorry for my bad english:) thanks.
I'd say 40's-60's
Thanks.Yes i Think the lamp is made about 1940
But i wonder where it came from. And what sterling means.?
This seems very similar to the Pittsburgh Glass Co.'s Mercury Glass "X-Ray" reflector shades which seem very common. It is my understanding that these shades were used with fixtures to illuminate display cases and windows at department stores in the 30's-40's . I am not sure if the highly reflective surface really is made with mercury or not, but there are many kinds of shades made from "mercury glass". I have never seen a shade manufactured by the Sterling company before. Very nice!
