I think these must have been distributed to each town in Vermont back when it was made and this one is the one from the town of Fairfield - not far from where i grew up. There's loads of beautiful maps, etchings and great stories and interesting facts about just about everything there is to know about VT.
I love the illustrations in these old books!
me too walksoftly! after about 1900, most printing declined a lot in quality, but so many from the 19th century are spectacular!
