This is a Lemonade set my great grandmother (born 1853) brought over from England in 1892. It does not have any markings on the bottom of the pitcher or the glasses. There are six glasses 5 have water scenes and one has a windmill scene. The glasses had gold leaf around the top edge which is worn. The scenes have gold leaf around the edge. I was wondering if anyone recognizes this and can help me identify it. I am not sure if my Great grandmother purchased it or if it she received it from her Great great grandmother. Any information would be appreciated.
Stunning!! Welcome to CW!
I've included two new pictures to help identify the set.
there isn't any company marking on the bottom of the pitcher or the glasses. It is possible that my great grandmother purchased the set in the US all I know is my great grandmother came here from England in 1892 and died in 1929. The set went from my great grandmother - grandmother - mother - to my sister then to me. I am interested in how to keep it in its present condition. Its been kept in a hutch with glass doors for the last 50 years or so. but it still gets dusty. I am concerned with keeping the gold leaf intact.
