When I was a small girl, my Dad was in the Merchant Marines. He brought these dolls home one Christmas, I was about 3 or 4 yrs old. Now 62 years later, I wanted to share these. They are in remarkable shape, a little worn, the girl has a holes in one stocking and the boy has a couple of broken fingers. They move their legs and heads simultaneously and walk along on the wooden shoes.....I keep them in a glass doored box on the wall. They are 16" high and everything on them is original. They have little buttons on their shoulders and are all handpainted. If you know anything about them, I would love to hear from you.

What a wonderful gift from you Father to cherish. These are German made novelty dolls made of celluloid . They were targeted to USA and brought home by many service men during WWII . The Date around 1940's . Many are not marked by company that made them so it is a guess as to maker , there were several companies making these .
Here is an example of one like yours but not as good condition . It is meant only to show you the doll but price is not true value it is only what they want not what it will sell for . Thank you for sharing your precious dolls ! and Welcome to CW
