I purchased this Sessions clock at an estate sale. It was in the basement, all dusty and dirty. When I tried to identify it, I noticed that "MIDAS" is stamped on the label on the inside back door. Anyone know what that means. The clock is in fair condition, the chimes work, but the clock does not. I only paid a few dollars for it.

My guess is that "Midas" may be the model name although I can't find any information on a Sessions Midas Tambour Mantel Clock in any of my references. It's a nice little Tambour. Have you ever thought about getting it fixed, or is it more of a decorative piece?

Thanks for your response. I had the same result on the internet search. If it's not too expensive I would like to get it repaired. The springs look fine, it probably needs a cleaning & Oil. It will run for a minute, then stops

These old clocks are very simple to fix if you are handy.
Oil the end of all axles, check that winding is not tightened very end.
It possible that main spring is dead, it's very easy to change.
      Nice clock.
