Hello! I found this small lantern on our farm yesterday. It stands approx. 3 1/2 inches tall with the cap on. On the base it says " Avora 2/3 oz. USA". I have very little knowledge in this area and looking for a bit of history to hand down about the lamp. Thank you for any help you can give me.
Hi! Your Miniature lamp was advertized in a 1894 catalogue and sold by C.M. Livingston's Silent salesman 207-209 Madison Street, Chicago, Il. It was their model #1420 and came in pink, green and ruby tints (flashing) with beaded gold panels and band. It came with an acorn burner and glass chimney. They were sold 1 doz. boxed in an assortment of colors. C.M.Livingston were the distributors and there is no mention on who made it. It could also be used as a Salt & pepper shaker. RER (BOB)
Loumanal, I'm impressed. You were right on top of this one!
Thank you so much! Lamp found buried deep on top of an old cupboard. Was high on top of a ladder looking down and spotted it. Had small specks of Ruby coloring to it.
