Matching set of wood architectural pieces "in the rough", I was told by my mother that over 50 years ago they came off a house that belonged to someone on her side of the family, perhaps from a porch? I rescued them when I discovered one being used as a doorstopper for the back door of the garage at my mother's house. That's all I know about them. They need a bit of cleaning yet so look past the dirt. One is missing it's tip. Can anyone provide any further information? To me they look like pieces that a sign would have hung from but there are no holes where anything might have once hung from it and the way they were described to me is they were decorative elements on the house.

They look like they are for a mirror on the back of a dresser. A good wood worker could fix the broken on easy enough.

James: How would they have been used for that purpose? There are no holes in the wood anywhere, just the ends where they were secured into something. They seem too large to have come from a dresser, and my mother clearly told me they came off a house. I don't know now what to think! Also not sure what do with them.

I didn't look at them in that respect and I didn't know if there were hole or not so I threw that out there. But yes gingerbread on porches (post and roof joinings). They went on painted ladies

SMD, the stained and varnished/shellacked finish and level of detail in the carving and scroll work indicates to me that these are either furniture elements (mirror supports was my first impression, too...) or interior trim pieces, not exterior 'gingerbread.'

Chadakoin, I hate to rain on your parade but there is 'ginger bread' for the interior as well, I have quite a bit in my house.....

I just don't understand how they could be mirror supports, there are only the screws on the ends where each one was attached to something. I would think they would have holes somewhere else that would connect it to a mirror, but there are no other holes except at the ends. I think they were just decorative pieces that were on a house, perhaps a porch?
