The chair was designed and manufactured by Herman Chairs, Inc in Hickory, NC. It appears to be a 1960's model, but we were unable to track down much information from the model/style number. It was produced for Lit Brothers of Philadelphia.
I purchased this chair when looking for good, solid wood furniture at a thrift store in Abington, PA. Sadly, there was no history or information available on the origin of the donation. The chair did have to be cleaned quite extensively due to some sort of dirt build-up along the top of the back-rest; if it had been leather it may have been welcome, but this is vinyl upholstery so that "patina" really had to go! I purchased the chair for $30 USD.
Approximate measurements: 32" height, 24" width, 25" depth, 40" diagonal depth, 19" seat depth, 11" leg length.
If anyone has more information on this model of chair, I'd love to read your comments, thanks! ~JM
