This thing is 2.5" X 2". Under the silver part of the clamp it says Breez Union NJ & M 32. This was something a guy into filming during vietnam used. It also says government on the sleeve around one of the screws. SP1 (military? was scetched into case also. Help!? Thanks

SP1 probably means specialist 1st class. My guess is that it fits on a camera & the gear is for a focus mechanism. If that is a wire I see? if so, probably for running a motor for the gear to focus. Who knows what governments waste money on? Why am I writing this as I know nothing about cameras!!

There is or was a company named Breeze Eastern in Union, NJ that bid on government military contracts. It is possible that there was a name change from Breez to Breeze or perhaps this was a misprint that was rejected and someone took it home. Researching the company and their government contracts would be a good starting point.
