very beautiful!! welcome to cw:) someone here does know about these :)
It is a gold Elgin watch.
Thank you Stillwater, thats a great start.
Well what do you want to know? You didn't provide the markings or anything, how would we help you?
Looks like you've figured it out anyway, its a pocketwatch with a movement by Elgin and a 14k gold case. Its missing the loop by the way.
Sorry, I will update all that tomorrow. Thanks again.
I believe this was a ladies pocket watch also . Very nice ! There are several on ebay and google if you search ladies Elgin 14K pocket watch Multi color :-) Welcome to CW and I am sure when you give more info someone will tell you more about it . Thanks for sharing it .
What I meant to say is that with watches, a lot of the time its "what you see is what you got." There usually isn't much more than the maker, the metal, and the age, and age we can't tell you without the markings
The serial number appears to be 5733488.
The 5,000,000 series were manufactured 1893 to 1895, approximately.
Here is a link to input the serial number of your watch. I used 5733488.
