I inherited this box when my dad passed away 10 years ago. I never got to ask him any questions about it but I believe it belonged to my Grandmother whom I never met. The mark on the bottom says Barbour Silver Co. Quadruple Silver with what looks like a C underneath the circle. I can't find much info on it but I'd like to know approximately how old it is and as you can tell it is quite tarnished so I want to know the best way to clean it. Thanks!
I actually have this same design!! I also had a hard time finding much info other than the ad that you have posted. Mine has a light pink fabric lining. I always assumed that the initials on top were custom to the owner, but I see yours has the same letters. I'm curious to see if anyone has any info. I also thought it was just silver plated? I have since bought an acid tester. I will have to check this piece out. Kristina
I thought the letters were maybe a previous owners initials also so it's good to know that's not the case. Unfortunately, mine hasn't had the fabric lining for a very long time so it's pretty plain inside.
